Phyllis Clark (1926 – 2015)

Phyllis Clark was born in Holyoke, Mass., on Nov. 21, 1926, and as a child lived in Holyoke and Bennington, NH. She received a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med and Biology from the University of New Hampshire where she met her husband Russ. She also attended St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY and received a teaching certificate in art. Phyllis had an avid interest in art, but was only an “occasional painter” early on. After teaching for many years and raising a family, she and Russ retired to the family homestead in East Washington, NH. She then decided to actively pursue her love of painting by taking classes at the Sharon Art Center and joining the Lone Mountain Artists.

We were fortunate to have Phyllis as a member of the Lone Mountain Artists. She was an active participant in classes and exhibits. She passed away in 2015 and is sorely missed. Phyllis lived life to the fullest and was a great source of joy, laughter and inspiration to all of us.
